Here I am

So, I am realizing that the last time I wrote it was March! We're all ready closing in on the second weekend in April and I have yet to post. Needless to say, I am also VERY behind on my blog reading. My Google reader probably has a big, scary number of posts for me to read!

My sister and her husband left VERY EARLY Monday morning. We had a wonderful visit full of food, laughter, and fun. We packed a lot into our few days that we had together. I miss her immensely and can't wait to see her again this summer. Aidan was a good sport and went shopping and to lunch with us. We did leave him with the men when we went and got mani/pedis. I don't think he wanted to be involved in THAT much girl time!

Easter day was great! Daddy helped Aidan find his Easter basket that the Easter Bunny hid for him. He loved his new lion toy from his Aunt Elizabeth. We have named her "Liz Lemon Lion". His basket also had a cute little crib mirror with an elephant on top for him to stare at! We had our friends Luke and Heather over for dinner, along with my sister and her husband. We grilled out giant steaks and had delicious sides to go with. The weather was gorgeous and we were able to eat outside. Later in the day we went to a park down the street and played some bocce ball. All in all, a perfect holiday.

Sadly, my laptop is officially dead. D.E.A.D. Jason bought a Wi-Fi card for our dinosaur of a desktop, now we just need a keyboard. Once we have that I'll be able to start to blog again more regularly. I'm using Jason's computer right now. I have lots of pictures to upload onto the desktop and post for all to see!

Last Wednesday Aidan had his 2 month check-up, complete with shots. Eeek! He was a trooper. He cried a little after the shots, but after some love from Mommy he was just fine. Our little guy weighed in at a big 10 lbs. 14 1/2 oz. and measured 23 inches! He gained 3 lbs and 2 inches in about 3 weeks! He has officially grown out of his newborn clothes and is now wearing all 0-3 month outfits. How fast they grow up!

Today, Aidan is exactly 2 months old. I cannot believe it! To celebrate I took him to the Zoo. It was our first real outing with just him and I. We had a great time. He wasn't very fussy and we were able to walk around for almost 3 hours! Aidan really liked the monkeys and actually laughed at them as they were jumping from branch to branch!

This weekend we are going to the Official Texas Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill. It is an adorable little historic town about an hour NW of here. I'm excited to take Aidan's picture in the bluebonnets. It's pretty much a right of passage here in Texas. Have a baby? Well then you'd better take that munchkin to get his picture taken in a field covered with the state flower!

Well, I am hoping we'll pick up a keyboard this weekend and I'll be able to post some pics for you all. :)

  1. Sounds like you've been busy, girl! Looking forward to some new pics of a fast-growing Aidan! Exciting times. Can't wait to see him!

  2. Howdy! I always look forward to meeting other Texas girls! I want to see the blue bonnets too, but alas, I live in the panhandle! Just need to make a road trip to the Hill Country!

I'm your newest follower! Through TX blog gals.
