The Alamo Gardens

We have visited the Alamo I believe 4 times now. And to be honest, I never tire of their beautiful grounds. Even if you're not into history, taking a stroll around the grounds is worth the trip out to the old mission.

The day that we visited with my Dad was perfect. It was a weekday, so there weren't many people walking around. I was able to take a lot of pictures without tourists walking into the scene.

Probably my favorite part of their gardens is this beautiful, old live oak tree. The photos don't do it justice. It is massive and the branches are just a giant tangle of wonder. I believe it is around 140 years old. And what an impressive marvel it is. I'd love to spend a day in those branches reading a good book!

  1. We stayed across the street from the Alamo for our honeymoon. :) In fact, you can see the Emily Morgan in some of your photos! We were woken up on our first morning by the first tour at the Alamo - "and on your left" - I kid you not.

I'd love to know what you thought of this post! Leave your comments here. Thanks for visiting! :)
