Looks like I've got a case of the Mondays. I think I've had it for the last week and a half.
So, since we returned from Ohio. Yea.
I've just been SOOO happy to be home, that I've wanted to relish in it. My home that is. I want to relax in my humble abode, enjoy it's silence (except for the two barking dogs and screeching 11-month old), and simply be here. I've missed my little piece of Texas.
But, I've also become seriously lazy. I just started "cleaning up" this week. Meaning, I finally pulled out the broom to sweep. Don't worry, I dusted, too. Mind you, these are things I usually do on a daily basis. Having four animals tends to create dust and grime and yuckiness fairly quickly. So you can imagine the state of things after being gone for three weeks.
Did I mention I'm happy to be home?
I seriously don't think I can be gone again for three weeks. I love my family, but that's just way too long. Sometimes a girl just needs to be in her own place. With her own things. And her own bed. And her own kitty to snuggle with.
Slowly things have been getting back to normal. Jason was a champion after he returned back to Texas. He arrived back two days before Aidan and I did and got right to work. He did the laundry, dishes and put away his things. Then he opened all of Aidan's toys, put in new batteries and set everything up in his playroom. He even made me Thai food for dinner the night we came back.
I love him. He is the greatest.
Me? Well, I managed to unpack Aidan's clothes and put them away after we'd been back for two days. My clothes? That's another story....
Oh, and did I mention that our Christmas decorations are still up? All of them? Thank God I didn't put up a tree, then I'd feel like a big failure. How long is too long to keep up the garland and the holly? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?
Speaking of Christmas... I have a Christmas post that I still haven't finished writing. Maybe I'll just post pictures instead. Take the easy way out.
I know it will all get done. It's not like we're living in filth. I just wonder if it's like a break up. You know, they say that it takes half the time that you were with somebody to get over them. So, since I was gone for three weeks, will it take me a week and a half to get back on track?
Sounds about right to me....
One more thing to let you know just how "lazy" I've been feeling as of late. I made Kraft mac and cheese yesterday for lunch. I had a hankering, and when Mama wants it, everybody gets its! So, Jason, Aidan and I all had that delicious, sodium-filled goodness for lunch.
It was Mmmm Mmmm Good!
Enjoy your week!
