When this little guy came home and found that there was a baby in residence, I don't think he was too thrilled. We tried to coax Aidan into touching the baby or even kissing him. But, Aidan was firm. In his eyes, the baby did not exist.
He continued to ignore Connor until he had been home for two days. Suddenly, he became interested in his little brother.
When Aidan wakes up in the morning or from his nap, the first thing he says is "baby."
He calls Connor "Cah-co" and loves to help out with all things baby related.
He likes to hand me Connor's diaper, push him in his swing and give him lots of kisses. He also points out things that belong to Connor like his car seat, bouncer and bassinet.
We leave our bedroom door open while Connor is napping and Aidan likes to go in and touch his feet and wave at him while he's in his bassinet.
A few days ago, Aidan came and sat by me on the couch, held out his arms and asked to hold Connor. My heart melted. He really does love his little brother.
I know there will be plenty of moments to come where Aidan is less than thrilled that he has to share Mommy and Daddy with a sibling. But, right now, I'm so happy that he is so welcoming of his little brother and wants to be involved in his life.
I'm so proud of my big boy!
