Growing Up

Last week while I was in the hospital digesting the fact that I was the mother of two little boys, my sweet Aidan headed off for his first day of "Playschool". You may remember that this was an event that I wanted to be present for. I was praying that baby number two would be able to hold out so that I could be there for Aidan's big day.

Unfortunately, Connor had different plans. Aidan stayed with friends for a few days while we were at the hospital and my wonderful friend Jamie took him to school for the first time. Luckily, Jason was able to meet them there so that Aidan had one of his parents present.

He has attended four times so far and is doing wonderfully. He always cries when Jason drops him off, but stops as soon as he leaves. His first week he cried a little bit throughout the day, but was fine his second week. His teacher, Miss Norma, is very proud of him!
She told us that he is the only child  in his class (there are 8 kids, 2 teachers) who always says "please" and "thank you". I have to tell ya that my head swelled a little bit when I heard this! It's so nice to know that he is polite to everybody, even when we are not around.

Now that Connor is home, it makes Aidan seem so much older. And not so babyish anymore. I know he is still young and there are many things that he still needs to learn how to control, such as his reactions when he is upset, frustrated or tired. But, my baby boy is turning into a big boy.

It's fun to watch how he is actually starting to play with his toys and understand how to manipulate things. His vocabulary keeps on expanding and his ability to recognize/associate objects and people is amazing!

My baby boy is growing up before my very eyes! I miss the tiny baby he once was, but I'm so excited for the individual he is becoming. :)
