Holiday Fun

Earlier this month we went to a Holiday Festival with some friends....

In addition to Santa, they also had a petting zoo, train rides, horse drawn carriage rides, a petting zoo, rock climbing wall and more!

Needless to say, our little animal lover was in seventh heaven once he entered the petting zoo!

He is mooing at me!

It has been unseasonably warm here in Houston this winter. (It was in the 80s this week!) But, on this day it was pretty chilly. Unfortunately, both of our boys came down with double ear infections a few days after our fun outing. They are on the mend now and we're hoping they are both 100% by Christmas!

Merry and Bright

This year I decided to keep things pretty simple around here when it came to our Christmas decorations. As I mentioned previously, I had given away the majority of our decorations to a friend in need and had decided to DIY a few things myself.

Come on in!

O, Christmas Tree {2011}

This year, Daddy had a little elf help him put up the Christmas Tree. We opted to use our fake one that I bought for a great deal on Black Friday a few years ago. I think once the boys are a little older, we'll make a day of it and go out to cut down our own tree. But, for now, this is 7 1/2 foot, pre-lit fir will make do!

First he helped Daddy put the tree together....

Then he helped Mommy decorate it. I didn't use any balls this year, because our little elf LOVES ball. I thought I'd save myself (and my ornaments!) from the hassle of cleaning up broken shards of glass everyday. I also didn't put anything on the bottom 1/3 of the tree or in the back. Let's say, it's pretty bare looking from some angles... but  it's still beautiful!

Aidan absolutely loves the Christmas tree and says goodnight to it every night before bedtime. I can't wait to see his face on Christmas morning after Santa has come!! Christmas is so wonderful when you have children of your own to share it with. :)
