After much research and debate, we decided to hold our wedding at the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Jason and I have both always wanted an outdoor wedding. Something fun, but a bit more laidback than your traditional church ceremony.
The Lodge was a great decision, since they had an on-site wedding planner who took the reins, for the most part. It made wedding planning much easier for me, since I live 1400 miles away and at the time of our engagement was 8 1/2 months pregnant, chasing after a toddler and spent my free time napping. Yea.
Anyway... We were married outside at their gazebo overlooking Lake Erie. It was perfect.
The Mothers were escorted down the aisle to "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley.
My Mom and my "family adopted" brother, Ed. He's an old friend of mine who we all consider apart of our family. We love him and his wife to pieces.
The wedding party walked to the tune of "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.
My nephew, Brandon, was our ringbearer. At 8 years old, he wasn't overly thrilled to have this special job. My sister actually had to bribe him to take part. Ha!
Elizabeth looking lovely in yellow!
My sweet little flower girls. At first they only dropped a few petals at a time, then they both decided to dump their baskets and run down the aisle. Priceless.
My Dad walked me down the aisle to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.
Forever the wise guy, he kept asking me if I was sure I wanted to do this. He also informed me that he had a boat waiting in case I needed to make a run for it... Riiight, Dad!
Jason seeing me for the first time. :)
We had two readings...
One done by my sister, Maureen and the other by Jason's Aunt Tina.
The boys weren't too thrilled with the proceedings...Keepin' it real here, folks!
We read our own "tweaked" vows to each other.
Jason's brother had a bit of an issue getting the rings off of the pillow.
Ring finally on the finger....
Husband and wife!
Next time I'll be sharing some very fun "posed pictures" for you all to enjoy!
P.S. You can find my first wedding breakdown post here. :)
