A Fun, No-Mess Fall Decorating Project for Toddlers

My boys really enjoy helping me around the house. You know, the usual things... "unloading" the dishwasher, "folding" the laundry and "picking up" toys.

So, when it came to decorating for Fall this year, Aidan was all hands on deck.

But, Mommy wasn't sure she wanted his "help." That is, until I found these super cute wall clings in the Dollar Spot at Target. (Also known as my not-so-secret heaven!)

How adorable is that little scarecrow?

At a dollar a pop, I grabbed three, and also picked up two more with a Thanksgiving motif to use in November.

Once we got home, I told Aidan that he could "decorate" the windows. This little guy was SOO excited!

First we decorated the window in his room.

Just look at that concentration...

My little guy wanted to help, too!

Then we moved onto Connor's room. Connor insisted on supervising... .it is his room after all! :)

Aidan was so proud of his work! He used a "layering" technique, so his designs were pretty contained to one small area on the window.

Every morning he goes from room to room and says, "Beautiful window!" I have to say that I had a wonderful time watching him concentrate so hard on his decoration.

I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of messes. My type-A self rears its ugly head and freaks out at the first signs of mixed playdoh colors, broken crayons or finger paint splatters. Aidan also has an extremely short attention span and usually loses interest after about 10 minutes into a craft.

So this project was great for both Aidan and Mommy!

Happy Fall, y'all!

Do you let your little ones "help" you decorate, too?

P.S. Be sure to check out my awesome giveaway- a Vintage Tweet necklace from Mama's Nest Designs!
