Especially on those days. You know the ones....
Where your patience is wearing thin, your children just won't listen and you can't quite get your bearings. Things are just out of balance.
I'm in the midst of one of those days right now.
It's been trying to say the least.
Potty time debacles, screaming, toy throwing, crying and multiple timeouts. And that's just with my oldest.
And all before 11 am.
I need one of these.
After a bit of lunch, I thought I'd try to switch things up. Perhaps a change of scenery would be good for us all. So we headed to one of our favorite haunts, Target.
Things were going okay. I treated myself to a well-deserved pumpkin spice latte, while they shared a soft pretzel.
Then Aidan threw his hat. Then his shoes. Then his pretzel. Connor tossed his binkie and immediately started
Thankfully they both fell asleep in the car. And for once, I was successfully able to transfer BOTH of them to their beds where they remain fast asleep.
And now here I am. Sitting on the couch, watching Sex and the City reruns, sipping a Pepsi Next and attempting to reboot.
I love my job. It's the greatest in the entire world. But, some days... some days I need a break. A little me time. And a cocktail.
Especially when it's one of those days.
