Mommas Weekend {in the Texas Hill Country}

On Friday afternoon I headed west with two friends to the Texas Hill Country. My BFF and her husband recently purchased a second home out there and she invited a few of us Moms up for the weekend.

It was perfect.

We sat on the porch in the morning with steaming cups of hot coffee (them) and crumbly, cheesy pieces of strudel (me).

We watched movies.

We laughed. A lot.

We stuffed ourselves silly with local fare, from cremini mushroom soup to loaded mashed potatoes to pancakes 12 inches in diameter. Yum!

Dinner for three. I had blackened tilapia, zucchini, squash and loaded mashed potatoes
We talked of children, futures, husbands, fears, young love, dreams and everything in between.

We I slept in. Until 9:00am. *happy sigh*

My light and bright guest room. :)

We went shopping. Without children and strollers.

We indulged in margaritas, sangria and large glasses of red wine.

Frozen margarita with a shot of sangria. Divine!
And we also missed our sweet babies that we left at home.

It's a gift to be able to leave your children for the weekend. To getaway and recharge, reflect and relax.

But, it's an even greater gift to be welcomed home with bear hugs, giant smiles, wet kisses and the excited chatter of your little ones who are so glad to be in your arms once more. :)

How was your weekend?
