Our Fall Front Porch {2012}

We had the first " Fall" day here in Houston yesterday. It was cool, cloudy and a bit of a breeze helped the tree branches sway to and fro. Perfect. The weather brought about the right opportunity for me to get our front porch ready for Fall! :)

Aidan and I bought the plants at our local garden center on Saturday night. He was a good helper and even picked out his own "flower", which would be the purple kale you see down below.

I love mums! Jason does not. Every year we go through this "mum debate." I always win. But, I did buy him a pretty coleus plant to lessen the "mum effect" we have going on out front.

 I all ready had the little welcome sign and simply spray painted it with some orange spray paint from the garage. I set him on top of the coleus plant as a friendly greeting for visitors. :)

We picked up the bigger pumpkin at a patch over the weekend. Once it gets closer to Halloween we'll have a pumpkin carving night with the boys. I can't wait!

I bought these little pumpkins at the grocery store. I think they're adorable.

 This boxer was found in the garden department of Home Goods over the summer. I picked him up and brought him home immediately. He is a constant reminder of our dear Charlie, that we lost 9 months ago. I can't believe it's been that long! I miss our goofy, gentle giant every single day. Aidan gave him his own pumpkin. My boy is too sweet. :)

So many beautiful colors!

 I've had this wreath for years. I don't even remember where I got it from. It's lost some of its leaves and gourds over the years, but I just glue them back on with my trusty glue gun. It's one of my favorite Fall decorations.

This little bicycle was a find at Ross a few years back. I brightened him up with a pretty red Mum in the drivers seat!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Is your porch ready for Fall?

  1. So beautiful! I love fall color - it reminds me of playing in the leaves in Minnesota just after they fall. Oh how I wish we had that here!
