It's been a slow process in decorating the room the way that we want it to look. Slow and steady wins the race, right? I've known ever since the Nester wrote a post about her monogram that I wanted one. I needed one! And I finally bit the bullet and ordered one from Southern Nest. It arrived as just a plain wood monogram- and it was up to me to decide what to do next with it.
Unfortunately, I was at a loss. I wasn't sure where I wanted to put it or what color it should be. So, it sat in a corner of our bedroom for a few months. And finally, after the rearranging, I knew exactly where it should go.

At first I painted it a light green, but didn't like how it looked at all. I had a bit of leftover paint from a side table I had stenciled and refinished and decided to see how it looked on the monogram. {The color is Seed from Eddie Bauer Home's Lakeside Cottage Collection.}
The verdict?

True love.
It's the perfect size for this space above our dresser and I love that it's the first thing you notice when you walk into our bedroom.

Another small addition I added is this little pillow.

So there you have it, a few new additions to our bedroom. I actually recently bought new end tables, too.... but I'll share those another day! :)
Do you love wood monograms? What do you think of Target's Threshold Collection? Am I the only one who is obsessed with it??
Sharing with these great parties:

Your room looks amazing!! I have one of those momgrams...I haven't painted it yet...trying to decide what color. I love the grey!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura! Isn't it hard to choose a color? At least you can always paint over a color if You don't like it! Thank you for visiting. :-)
DeleteYour bedroom looks so pretty! The monogram looks perfect above your dresser.
ReplyDeleteI am a total Target addict!!! I bought some Threshold pillows for my patio. They are really cute!
Thank you, Lisa! I am LOVING their Threshold line. I can't wait to find more pretty things to put in our home. Just don't tell my husband! :)
DeleteWonderful job on your home enhancements. I even have a matter regarding the chair...have you gotten to sand the chair before painting it? I am thinking of doing the same for my chairs, that are similar. Thanks!
