Texas Bluebonnet Pictures

Every Spring, us Texans are lucky enough to be wowed by nature's beauty- in the form of bluebonnets.

They're our state flower and are simply stunning to behold. Especially when you find an overflowing country field of them in full bloom. :)

This past weekend, we set out for the country to get our "annual" bluebonnet photos. If you live in Texas, you know what I'm talking about!

There are many websites purely devoted to letting the public know where all of the best bluebonnet photo spots are at this time of year. We took a tip from a friend and headed out to the teeny, tiny, barely on a map town of Whitehall, Texas for our pictures this year.

We were NOT disappointed. The field was filled to the brim of bluebonnets and there were very few other people there photographing their beauty. It was perfect!

We weren't so fortunate last year. After loading the boys in the car, we drove around for well over an hour with nary a field in sight. There was a bit of a drought here in the South, which caused for a lack of our state flower that Spring.

This year was obviously a different story.

The day wasn't without its troubles, though. First, Aidan was extremely upset about the wind that happened to be blowing that day. He has a fear of it (he's afraid it will blow everything away), so he was a bit upset at the beginning of our photoshoot. Luckily, he calmed down and we were able to get some great pictures of him.

Then, it was Connor's turn to be upset. About food. He screamed and screamed about wanting more snacks and the tears flowed and flowed- to the point where we ended up leaving. Things don't always end up the way you want them to when you have toddlers in the picture! ;)

We had a lot of pictures for our blooper reel!

At the end of the day, I would call our little outing a success. We had a wonderful time out of the city for the afternoon and followed it up with a family lunch at Panera. While we weren't able to get a decent family pictures (as you can see!), it was still fun to spend time together. :)

Have you ever seen the Texas bluebonnets?
